VR-Architecture is a technology demonstration of creating a 3Dmodelof a single floor or a whole building on an Android™ deviceusingfloor plan images or hand-drawn sketches. It demonstratesanimplementation of an algorithm that accepts image files offloorplans either saved to storage or taken with an Androiddevicecamera from a hand-drawn sketch or a printed picture andconvertsthem into a 3D model of a specific floor or a high-risebuilding.The user can open the resulting DWG file in ViewER orViewER-VR tosee the 3D representation of a corresponding model.VR-Architecturedemonstrates the following features: • Loadingmultiple floor plansfrom storage. • Recognizing a floor plan fromthe selected imagesand building their 2D models. • Identifyingdoors, windows, walls,and furniture. • Adjusting parameters fortrue-to-life recognition.• Building a 3D model and saving it in aDWG file. • Viewing theresulting models in ViewER or ViewER-VR. •Viewing the resultingmodel in AR mode. • Saving the generatedmodels to SD card,Dropbox, or Google Drive. ViewER™ is a technology demonstration Android™ application forrendering 3D models in openNURBS (3DM), Wavefront (OBJ), 3D Systems(STL), Stanford Triangle Format (PLY) and Autodesk Inc. (3DS, DXF,DWF) formats. ViewER application has an option to superimposerendering of CAD models over the real time video feed from thecamera that provides an augmented reality effect by combiningdigital 3D models and real objects in a single viewing environment.ViewER allows configuring of local paths to model storage locations(the default path is a root SD Card), including cloud sharedlocations such as Dropbox™, although the most optimal performanceis with models stored locally on an Android device. ViewER offersmodel caching to optimize the loading time. The application allowscapturing an image on the screen at any moment and sharing thescreenshot with colleagues or friends.

Modelsforrendering with 3DM View must be stored locally on an Androiddevice(models can be loaded to the device using a browserdownloadmanager, email, or USB connection). 3DM View supports astandardset of user manipulations: such as PAN\ZOOM\ROTATE\FIT. The“OpenFile” feature enables a new model to be opened withoutreturning tothe preview window. Models can be opened directly viathe filemanager. (NOTE: Models with wireframe data only are notsupported.For the model to be rendered, it must be saved in shadedmode.)
